Helen Farrell’s studio practice investigates the human and natural world through drawing, painting and print. She often works from observation but also integrates a fluid, instinctive element that is often heavily reworked. She is a fine art graduate of CCAD and in 2016 she completed a PhD at University College Cork, for which she was awarded an Irish Research Council Scholarship. Her work can be found in both public and private collections including The Arts Council of Ireland and The Office of Public Works. She has been involved in many collaborative projects with other artists and arts organisations and was a founding director of Cork Film Centre, a member of Cork Artists Collective and is currently on the board of Directors at The Backwater Artists’ Studios.
