The level 7 Certificate in TV Programme Production and Practice is aimed at those who would love to launch a career in TV programme making, as well as those already in the industry who would like to upskill. It combines study of the media market, with specialised training in craft and production. Lectures will introduce students to the current industry environment with in-depth knowledge of media ownership, funding models and programme formats. This part-time Certificate is an industry-focused course that equips learners with practical production skills, creative storytelling techniques, and real-world experience through integrated work placement or mentorship.
The emphasis in Semester One is on researching and developing programme strands and documentary concepts. In Semester Two students will have the option to undertake a number of work place activities, including placement, mentorship, shadowing, interviews and so on, gaining valuable insight and networking opportunities.
