MAPPING has been an exchange project referencing the visual language of maps, diagrams, networks, systems, or the lived experience of boundaries, histories, environments, structures.
MAPPING was conceived to work with MAKE 2023, Making and Place; the theme relates to and will be enriched by the Symposium, providing students with a direct link to the theories of Tim Ingold and Juhani Pallasmaa, and the practices of Ann Hamilton, Ismini Samanidi, and Eilis O’Connell.
Advanced students in four European University textile departments were given this theme in October, to explore through research and in the creation of finished works for a touring exhibition, to open with MAKE 2023.
