“EMERGEnts is a group exhibition at the James Barry Exhibition Centre encompassing over thirty new works from the third year BA undergraduate students of Fine Art at Crawford College of Art and Design, MTU.
The James Barry Exhibition Centre focusses on supporting and promoting the work of graduates and early career artists and in developing a understanding between the arts and other study and research areas within MTU. This is the perfect environment and ethos to support a group of young artist learners who have emerged from a time of deep restriction, into a fully immersed process of art making, production and critique in a studio environment.
This collection of artworks is both the product of this process and a celebration of it. It’s an exciting time as the work on exhibition represents the materialization of a new collection of artists personal directions, new points of view and individual exploration across a broad range of media and processes from painting and lens-based media to sculptural objects. “
