AREAS OF EXPERTISE: INTERACTIVE DESIGN, TANGIBLE COMPUTING, HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION, DATA PHYSICALIZATION
Dr. Trevor Hogan is a Lecturer in Design on the BA in Creative Digital Media, where he also leads the Human-Data Interaction Group and coordinates the work placement programme. In 2016, he was awarded his Ph.D degree (Magna cum laude) from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, his thesis was titled Data and Dasein - A Phenomenology of Human-Data Relations. His current research is concerned with describing and better understanding how embodiment influences and augments people’s experience of data representations. His work is strongly interdisciplinary and may be situated in the field of Interactive Design, but at the intersection of Tangible Computing, Human-Computer Interaction, Data Physicalization and Psychology.
