MAKE 2025 Symposium hosts its accompanying exhibition: SPECIES.
SPECIES exhibition will feature student artworks which embody an interspecies ethos, which cross boundaries of plant/human, animal/human; which show empathy for our fellow non-human species. Works selected feature drawing, papermaking, recycling, embroidery, beading, weaving, print, felting, stitch, and sculpture.
Students exhibiting were selected from Year 3 and 4 of our BA in Fine Art and Applied Art, MTU MA by Research, and the current class of the Art Textile Special Purpose Award of the
MTU Crawford College of Art and Design.
Alongside Cork students will be three selected students of the BA Year 3 and 4 Textiles Dept. of Pallas University of Applied Arts, Tartu, Estonia.
Tartu have been closely involved with CCAD Cork in a series of Erasmus exchange projects such as SPECIES, over 8 years since 2017.
Ms. Aet Ollisaar, Head of Department in Textiles; and Ms. Marju Roos, Assistant to Head of Department, Textiles; and three exhibiting textile students of the University will be in Cork to install this exhibition and be present for its opening launch at 5:30 on 8 March, immediately after MAKE 2025.
