International Undergraduate Journal of Health Sciences - cover art competition winner

11 June 2021

Ioana Cretu, BA (Hons) Visual Communications Year 4, wins the International Undergraduate Journal of Health Sciences Publication Cover Art Competition.

The team behind the newly published International Undergraduate Journal of Health Sciences are delighted to announce Ioana Cretu as the winner of the Journal’s cover art competition!

The International Undergraduate Journal of Health Sciences (IUJHS) is a student run, open access, peer-reviewed online journal founded at MTU in 2021 that publishes original research within the field of human health and medical science, and Ioana’s artwork is now the journal’s cover. Ioana also wins the competition prize of €1000, from the IUJHS project and MTU Arts Office!

The IUJHS is a publication of the Department of Biological Sciences and the Library at Munster Technological University. Due for launch this Tuesday 15th June, it is produced through funding obtained from the National Forum’s Strategic Alignment of Teaching and Learning Enhancement Funding in Higher Education 2020. An undergraduate competition to find a cover artwork was developed with the support of MTU Arts Office, and we are absolutely delighted with the winning piece created by Ioana Cretu, 4th year BA(Hons) Visual Communications 2021, Crawford College of Art and Design, Munster Technological University. A real triumph for STEAM, interdepartmental collaboration, and undergraduate teaching and learning. Thank you to all those who entered, it was a joy to judge.
