Creative Digital Media Graduate Reunion!


This year, MTU Crawford College of Art & Design celebrates 20 years of Creative Digital Media Graduates.

Date: Friday October 11th 2024

Location: MTU Cork School of Music

Calling all graduates from the Creative Digital Media program, join us to reconnect with old classmates, share memories, and catch up on each other's journeys since graduation. The first part of the reunion will include presentations from the graduates below, followed by a meet and greet reception in the foyer with refreshments.

 

Directing & Cinematography
Shane Serrano (Graduated 2008)

Shane Serrano  is an award winning Director & Cinematographer from Limerick City, Ireland. Through his production company, Crude Media, Shane has been directing, shooting and producing short films, documentaries and commercial work for over 15 years, working on over 130 music videos for Irish and International artists. Many of his films have been selected by acclaimed film festivals globally, including the Newport Beach Film Festival, Irish Film London, Galway Film Fleadh, Dublin International Film Festival, Hollyshorts Film Festival and Chicago Irish Film Festival. In 2019 he was the recipient of the Special Recognition Award for Outstanding Contribution to Film in Limerick, at the Richard Harris International Film Festival.

 

Customer & Experience Design
Emer O'Kelly (Graduated 2008)

Emer is a Senior Manager in EY working within the Innovation and Experience design team, specialising in user focused business optimisation and transformation. Each project is driven by customer-centric insights and analytics to help design great products and services for clients. Emer has worked as a project lead for major business initiatives including digital transformation, customer journey optimisation and service design delivery. Prior to this role, Emer was the Campaign and Design Lead for PwC, coordinating the delivery of marketing campaigns across multiple channels. Emer also worked as the Brand and Design manager for a Global Telecommunications company, managing the company brand and marketing campaigns across global regions.

 

Animation
Ian McCall (Graduated 2016)

Ian McCall is an animator and motion designer, based in Galway. Since 2020, he’s worked as a 2D character animator on several IP’s in the children’s television sector, including Kavaleers’ BoyGirlDogCatMouseCheese - now streaming on Netflix.

 

Systems Analysis

Tríona McCarthy (Graduated 2016)

Starting as a Technical Illustrator at Cloudera, a software company that delivers faster and easier data management and data analytics, they leveraged their creative and technical skills to communicate complex concepts effectively to prospects and customers. After transitioning to a Channel Operations Analyst role, they spent two years supporting the Global Channel & Alliance programs in data analytics and business optimisation. In their current role as a Business Systems Analyst, Tríona collaborates with stakeholders across the organisation to maintain and enhance systems and field automation processes that drive sales and support functions, contributing to the company’s growth. Their diverse experience can offer valuable insights into navigating and succeeding in the ever-evolving tech landscape.

 

Brand and Communications

Matthew Corbett (Graduated 2012)

Starting his career as a Communications Officer in Ireland's not-for-profit sector, before spending a year contracting in communications roles for nonprofits and governmental agencies in Melbourne, Australia. Matthew now leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for employee communication, public relations, brand identity and corporate social responsibility in TELUS Digital sites across more than 10 European countries.

 

Digital Innovation

Ian O'Leary (Graduated 2010)

Ian O’Leary, is Head of Digital and Innovation at IOB, a professional network of over 33,000 members who work in banking and the financial services sector. Ian leads the content development process for IOB's eLearning and social media channels, drives organisational UX and digital transformation and is digital product owner for the organisation's front facing systems.

 

Communications

Aoife Lucey (Graduated 2017)

Aoife is currently the Communications & Creative Lead at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Cork. Before this role, Aoife spent 4 years in Vancouver, Canada, driving social marketing campaigns for Microsoft's Xbox franchise 'Gears of War'. Aoife’s career began in video production at a small agency in Dublin before evolving to social media marketing where she made significant contributions to the award-winning “20x20” women in spot campaign leading her to be listed in the 2019 PWC Sport for Business ‘30 under 30’. Communications & Creative Lead at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine.

 

VFX

John Hayes (Graduated 2011)

John Hayes is a Houdini VFX Artist and Motion Designer based in Cork. With 13 years of experience and a solid CG Generalist foundation his work ranges from minimal motion graphics to complex simulation driven FX including fluid dynamics, pyro, rbd destruction, particles and vellum cloth simulations. He specialises in Houdini, Redshift, After Effects and Nuke and is currently a freelance artist working on commercial, corporate and episodic tv projects.
